Why So Many Cancellations?

Ringer
The list of canceled television shows for the season read like the list of its initial fall lineup! It happens every year of course, but networks do need to roll so many programs out so they can find THE ONE.

"Ringer", starring Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Geller, didn't make the cut. I watched the first few episodes and I am one of the viewers where (my) interest did not uphold.

Same with "Pan Am." I loved the premise and the throwback to that era (not to mention the Pan Am traveling bag!), but it could not keep me. I can't figure out why.
Pan Am
Now I know I love me some Josh Lucas, but how long did "The Firm" last? Before I had the chance to figure out when it aired & settle down, I think it was yanked.

The Firm
The only show that captured my interest and has remained a staple in my viewing schedule is "Once Upon A Time." It may be hard to follow with "two different worlds", but you just end up getting it. The actors fit the characters they play and the storylines don't lag. I dig Ginnifer Goodwin and Jennifer Morrison's "mother/daughter" dynamic. I was thrilled that it was renewed for next season.

And I have no idea why my "Desperate Housewives" interest picked up this final season. Maybe because it was that; their last year. I enjoyed it though and it was time for the series to come to a close. I noticed Marc Cherry's cameo as one of Susan's movers all on my own!

I'm just a viewer. My opinions (or lack of) are purely my own, of course.

New Yorkers For Children's Fall Gala

New York based celebs turned out last night @ Cipriani's on 42nd Street for the 2008 Children's Fall Gala. Ooh, a gala! That's such a fancy word for party. I think I'll start using that more often. Do these famous people pay or make a contribution to go to these decked out soirees? Then all these pictures surface all over the place showing the rest of the world that the beautiful famous people who get these free designer clothes were @ a fab party yesterday with other beautiful famous people while Catt James dutifully attended Back to School Night and then went to pick up a pizza. It's okay, I'll still always look @ the famous people pictures.
Here are some of them now.

Josh Lucas - Yummy; He showed up with some girl. Guess he isn't seeing Hathaway

Jimmy Fallon - What is he doing nowadays?

Julianne Moore - Always breezy and cool

Taylor Momsen - Really? 15? And making out with Chace Crawford last week!

Jay-Z & Beyonce - Power! (Uh-huh)

Sisters Lively - Robyn just had her 3rd kid and she looks hella fit. She's 15+ years older than Blake

Robert Buckley - (Sigh......)

Monet Mazur - I don't really know this person

And a slew of designers like Oscar de la Renta, Nanette Lepore, Jill Stuart, & Tory Burch were present.

Oscar Buzz For Anne Hathaway

Actress Anne Hathaway was @ the Toronto International Film Festival to premiere her movie, Rachel Getting Married on Saturday. Her performance in the film has been causing a lot of buzz and some say she could potentially pick up some awards. Hathaway plays Kym, a drug addict (or former one, I'm not sure) who returns home for her sister's wedding and drama ensues.

Anne broke up with her crook boyfriend and seems to be getting along fine (on the outside) on her own. Her hair is really nice, she was spotted singing karaoke @ the Green Door Lounge with her The Devil Wears Prada co-star Emily Blunt, who recently broke up with Michael Buble. And she was supposedly seen getting cozy with Josh Lucas. Yeah, he's hot; go for him!

Hathaway got her start on the FOX series, Get Real, and of course it barely lasted a season and of course, it was a favorite of mine. And of course I have the series archived on VHS. It was a really good show. Anyone remember that?
